Arietta

Hot off the release of their latest single, ‘Invincible’, Arietta is gearing up to bring their blend of driving intensity, melodic progression and clap-your-hands choruses to venues nation-wide over the course of 2007’s summer months!

2002 was an exciting year for founding members, Sean Ramesbottom, Tyler Johnston and Brian Craig. It wasn’t because Eminem’s ‘8-Mile’ was in theaters, nor was it because Justin Timberlake’s highly anticipated debut solo album dropped. This was the year where the stars over Scarborough (also known as gun shots) lined up perfectly; for these three musicians heard in their music, exactly what they were looking for. Sean, Tyler and Brian had before them a sound that represented them individually as much as it did collectively; and a band whose diversity represented their eclectic tastes in all genres of music, without compromising their own, unique sound.

It was over the next few years, where Arietta, rounded out by then bassist Ty Rowls and drummer Andrew Kekewich continued to hone their newly established sound, recorded numerous demos and won over a steady fan base by playing gigs across the province of Ontario with the likes of Brazil (Fearless Records), The Reason (Smallman Records) and The Most Serene Republic (Arts and Crafts).

Fast forward to the present, complimented with the addition of bassist Kyle Smith, and drummer Jeff Robertson, Arietta have taken their dedication to the game, and their musicianship to brand new heights. The band recently jumped in the studio with Engineer / Producer / Solid Dude, Mike Roacha (Roachmouth Records) and recorded a four song sampler which is available both by download on the band’s myspace and / or through the band personally at any of their upcoming shows. Riding closely on the creative waves of their recent sampler, the bros. of Arietta are already deep in the writing process; aiming for the recording and releasing of a full length LP (again under the implausible ears of Mike Roacha) by early 2008.

Having been described as the ‘Baskin Robbins of Canadian Rock’ (The Medium), this 5 piece collective fully embodies a no holds barred approach to song-writing and performing; as well as channel a diverse array of musical influences into their sound. With an explosive live show to back up their high-octane recordings, it’s no wonder Arietta is turning heads all over the Ontario music scene.

They have played Edge 102 Studios, Lee’s Palace and Sneaky Dee’s to name a few. They’ve been interviewed and published online by Versus Magazine and Truth Explosion, and have been labeled as ‘One of Canada’s most talented new bands’ by The Medium.

“With so many independent, unsigned bands out there today, Arietta will have no trouble convincing crowds across the country that they are really out of the ordinary”
