Dia Lucia Podroužková

I was not expecting to learn that Dia is studying to become a Police Officer…now that’s a reason to speed up! I can’t think of a better person I would want protecting our streets, she’s gorgeous, loving, a protector of the weak and has no issues dropping everything in the name of animal rights.

Dia is originally from the Czech Republic and immigrated to Canada around the age of 5, and came to Burlington, then finally on to Windsor. Growing up, Dia was always causing trouble and was constantly grounded but in her own words, it was “Awesome.”

For a model, Dia really doesn’t fit the usual mold; she eats a lot of junk food, hates working out and has a weakness for donuts. She admits that she has been lucky enough to stay naturally thin and fortunately has never had to worry about her weight. Amazingly Dia doesn’t have a favorite model nor does she have any desire to work with any particular fashion designer. It was her childhood dream to be an actress, and she’s been involved in theatre since she was young, modeling just kinda happened.

At this point I got curious about her modeling, so pressing further I got her to explain how she’s ended up in so many incredible photos and she said “It was something I actually accidentally fell into back in 2009 when I was 22. A friend of mine asked if I can fill in for her for this one random photo shoot and I said ok. I was always more into acting growing up and not modeling. After that photo shoot, random people discovered my photos and it started from there.”

Even though Dia never planned to be a model, when she does model she makes it look great, she’s got incredible eyes and amazing lips and is all about glamour. However, she doesn’t like the cheap and trashy look; she’s all about keeping it sexy and knows how to pose in the lingerie and the swimsuits.

In the beginning Dia wanted to be famous more then anything and now that she has had a taste of it she doesn’t really care about it anymore. In this industry, somehow Dia has been able to succeed and stay true to herself. To elaborate she says “Being in this industry it's easy to get chewed up and spit out and change your way of thinking and makes you becoming self-absorbed. I never got caught up in any of that junk. I'm still my down to earth self mostly just wearing sweats and going to Wal Mart lol.”

When it comes to being blonde or brunette, Dia has been both and started off blonde, but soon noticed that almost everyone had blonde hair, big boobs and tanned skin. So she went brunette and definitely prefers brunette, saying it makes her stand out more.

About family, Dia had this to say “I have a daughter who is 4. Growing up I never really wanted or wished for marriage or children. My daughter does know what I do. She thinks it's cool that she sees her mom in magazines and stuff. Lately however, she doesn’t care anymore. I asked her the other day at Chapter’s if she wants to see Mama's magazine and her response was "Noo.. not anymore" lol”

For fun, Dia loves to rollerblade, travel, hang out on the beach and surround herself with friends and family and just laugh all day.
